THE BLOOM MENTORSHIP
Our Mentoring Programme gives the next generation of rising stars the skills to grow and achieve their career goals by connecting them with inspirational experienced women. We are committed to empowering our mentees and helping every one of them thrive.
Our mentoring programme is a cornerstone of what Bloom does. Every member (apart from those in the senior leadership team) are asked to be a mentor as part of their membership. To us, mentoring is how we pay it forward to the next generation and ensure we’re able to support more women to thrive in our industry.
The Bloom Mentoship is open to all women with 2 to 6 years work experience (up to 7 years) in any discipline across the marketing and communications industry. This includes media agency, creative agency, production, technology platforms, PR, marketing and advertising.
Please note: Applications are now closed for this year. If you have any questions with regards the programme ahead of next year, please send a note to bloommentoring@bloomnetwork.uk
Why join The Bloom Mentorship?
If you are wondering if this free programme is for you then here are a few questions to consider:
Are you looking for help to map out and achieve your career goals and aspirations?
Do you need help to increase your confidence?
Do you need help communicating more effectively with stakeholders?
Do you need help growing your network?
Are you interested in leadership, time management and presentation skills?
Do you need help with seeking a promotion or salary negotiation?
Our industry experienced mentors (they all have 7+ years of experience in marketing & communications) and can help with the above and more.
You will also be part of a supportive and like-minded community and have access to:
An kind and talented community of Bloomers with 7+ years of experience in the marketing & comms industry
Exclusive Bloom Skill Sharing programme
Networking opportunities with other mentees - including face to face events and via our comms channel for all mentees
A free training session on how to get the most out of your mentorship and how to be a good mentee (we run the same for all mentors too)
The Bloom Mentorship is completely free, but we ask mentees to play an active role and commit to a monthly 1-hour session with their mentor (timings and frequency to be determined between the pair). Once assigned a mentor, mentees are responsible for communicating directly with their mentor regularly.
What can I expect?
Each year we open applications to the mentoring programme around April/May - this is because whilst we have lots of long-lasting members, we also welcome new Bloom members to the community. Plus, refreshing it each year means that there are new opportunities to be matched with a mentor to suit your goals for that year.
When you apply, we ask for a few details about you and what you’d like to get out of the programme. This is so that our wonderful Mentoring Team can match you as best possible with the Bloomer that would be the best fit.
After you apply, there is a period of a few weeks while our Mentoring Team work through all the applications and do the matching process. There are hundreds of them (in 2024/25 we had 337 mentorship pairings!) so it takes some time - but we get praised for how well the matching is done every time.
Once that’s all done, we’ll notify all mentees and mentors of their matches and set you up to kick start your mentorship.
To be eligible as a mentee, you:
are a woman (we have a separate programme that matches Bloom members with males in the industry called The Exchange)
have 2 to 6 years work experience (up to 7 years) in any discipline across the marketing and communications industry. This includes media agency, creative agency, production, technology platforms, PR, marketing and advertising.
must be either based in the UK, or part of an organisation that has a presence in the UK
Here’s what our previous mentees have to say about The Bloom Mentorship

She’s been amazing! We’ve covered both personal and professional areas of my life, pursuing goals in a realistic, step by step way, and that’s made a really huge difference! I’ve already seen a difference in how I approach the things I want to accomplish and feel so positive about it. I was really interested in learning more about sales and my mentor’s role in this has meant I’ve learned valuable skills from her in this specific area. Overall, my experience has been amazing, and I’m really grateful to Bloom and to Rachel for the opportunity to have a mentor

Being part of the Bloom Mentoring Programme this year has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I have fostered a really strong and genuine relationship with my mentor, who has helped me navigate exciting new career challenges and grow in confidence over the last 12 months. Bloom Mentoring is a really fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded women across the industry, and I would highly recommend the experience to all my friends and colleagues. A massive thank you to everyone who was involved in facilitating the scheme, and the many insightful and inspiring sessions laid on this year.

The Bloom Mentoring programme has helped me exponentially over the last year. It has helped me gain focus, define my values and encourage me to challenge what I want for myself and my career. My mentor, Ally, has challenged me to see differently, improve my professional relationships, and set goals and has been a comfort through challenges throughout the year. If anyone is slightly unsure whether to partake in the Bloom mentorship programme, the answer 100% should be yes. I did not know how much I needed a mentor until I met Ally

The Bloom Mentoring programme played a huge part in aiding my personal & professional growth last year. From the Bloom onboarding session to the 1-1 meetings, I found it so impactful to have someone to keep me accountable on my career growth journey. I was paired with Michelle - who with her wealth of experience - always offered sound advice, guidance and thought-provoking questions which in turn have helped me to grow and achieve what I had set out to. I really enjoyed being a part of this scheme with Bloom and would love to help others in my position in the future!

I was paired with someone from a completely different department than any I’ve worked in before, and it has been fantastic to gain a fresh perspective. It’s been incredibly reassuring to learn that, despite our different roles and experiences, we all face similar challenges in our daily work. Going through challenges and receiving guidance from my mentor has been an amazing experience which has really helped me to grow within my role and help build my confidence. I have been absolutely loving the programme so far.
